Since when really young, I've always travelled and explored.
Stepped in at 12, watching my father's passion for photography.
I started taking picture when I was 14, practicing with his Asahi Pentax, and 4 years later I graduated in commercial and still-life photography using 4x5" Large Format Camera Systems.
I was born and raised near Milan (Italy), in the late 70s, fed with movies and photography. Film era.
My first camera was a Zenit 122, on which I used to screw-mount my father’s 42x1 lenses. With my first earnings I bought different camera bodies and tested many photo formats. This was the moment I discovered the wonders of portrait and nature photography.
At that time I was using a Mamyia 645 and 6x7, the darkroom - not very wisely - was arranged directly in my bedroom and I spent years trying to acquire full control of the final result: with the film this never happened, not even when I moved my darkroom in a larger and more organized space at a friend’s house.
When travelling, I used to take with me a point-and-shoot compact camera while my beloved studio gear was always left home: I loved to travel light but, nonetheless, the deep need to document my travels made me sell everything to buy something suitable to travel with me: I could no longer live without.
My first Nikon was a F4s with two Nikon F2.8 pump-zoom lenses and, after a couple of years and many adventurous trips around Europe, I was ready to go digital.
First DSLR a Nikon d70, using same lens system. Then a Nikon d90.
To me, this finally meant the full command of the photographic process: an absolute revolution that made me feel the complete ownership of my art instinct.
In 2003 I was working as freelance Photographer in the Fashion Industry, covering events, exhibitions and studio sessions.
In 2010 I started to sell my pictures and to partner with some DMOs and other stakeholders of the travel industry. In 2012 I launched Globetellers, the travel magazine I run with my partner.
Since then, we work as freelance mainly in the tourism field as content producers and marketing consultants.
I am currently living in London, working in a company as Product Photographer and Creative Designer, and as a professional freelance Travel Photographer as well.
